David Gray in person up close?

Hi Folks.. I just found out that I get to realize a dream! When I was working all those years ago in Ireland, I was introduced to a CD called "David Gray ~ Lost Songs" it would be the soundtrack to my life for quite sometime, until "White Ladder" came out... and I still play that one with fervour!!! In any case, he is coming to Ottawa's new and improved Museum of Nature, and LIVE 88.5 is having a live radio taping, live off the floor at the Museum featuring ME as well as David Gray. I am excited to say the least!! I am on from 12:05pm until 12:15pm... that's 10mintutes and approximately three tracks if all goes to plan!! David will be on from 1:35pm until 1:50pm. What a thrill, there are a few others too, Tara Holloway, Jonathan Chandler & Pete Hammond...stop by Live 88.5 online to have a listen... How amazing!! Wooooooooooooooo!!! Also coming up in the Life of Lindsay is a date I have at Ottawa's The Rainbow Bistro on May 19th, it's a Wednesday night, so if you are out and about in the market, make sure to drop in for a spell of Songs....Also, I started a new blog, because I really don't think I have enough to keep up with on the web... check it out if ya like http://lindsayferguson.blogspot.com/ Anyway, that's it for now, short and sweet, unless you go to my blog link and read that!!! Hahaaaaa... it's a beautiful sun shiny day out there... Enjoy xox

Lindsay GIGS & JUNOS in Newfoundland

Hey Folks, I have the GREAT pleasure to travel to St. John's, Newfoundland (my 2nd Canadian home) thanks to Porter Airlines for such a SWEET deal on my ticket!! I can't wait to get back to The Rock, and I have some pretty sweet gigs while I am there. On Tuesday the 13th of April I am playing at The Grapevine, Sunday the 18th I am a "seat filler" at The Junos and then head to play a gig down at The Rose & Thistle Pub, and then on the 21st I am playing at The Ship Pub as part of The Folk Club... It's going to be TRES exciting, and I look forward to sharing some stories as they happen... Hope if you are in St. John's during any of this time, you can make it out to a show!!!  Happy trails, travels and best of ALL, happy Spring! Lindsay xo

OCFF Dreaming...

It's amazing, what a body can do with no sleep. I am quite surprised at how well my voice held out with all the singing over the past weekend. Singing in the doorway, hallway, staircase, elevators, shower singing, mic singing, harmonies too...not to mention banjos, pedal steel, violin's, drums, upright bass, electric one's, guitars, mandolins, melodions, keyboards, computers too all together jamming having fun one two!!! Sounds a bit overwhelming and it was, especially with only a few hours sleep over a four day period. It's the Ontario Council of Folk Festival Conference and happens once a year, featuring musicians and industry people from all over Canada... and some state-siders too... conferences all day and music all night ( & into the sunshine!) I hosted an "All Ottawa Showcase Room" and it went over smashingly. The room was packed solid for two nights (mornings!) in a row. Thank you thank you thank you Ottawa for having such a talented amount of people. I am glad to be a part of it sometimes. What a blast. After such a weekend, I feel totally re-generated. After all the time I spend on the computer, alone, trying to get gigs, organize gigs, search for this that and the other, it can get a bit tiresome and lonely, but after attending a conference such as this, it makes me realize that I am doing it all for the right reason and that every second of sweat and tears is worth it in the long run. Thanking you....Lindsay xox

Some Kind of Wonderful...

I absolutely Love Autumn. Just have a look around you, providing you are reading this and in North America... I mean LOOK at the brilliance around us. I was almost depressed at the end of Summer, seeing as there really wasn't a Summer, but then I got back from another two week whirlwhind trip to Newfoundland and there they were,  the leaves in full glory. It's almost as though the splendour of those colours just erased my confusion and replaced it with some kind of wonderful.  The smell of the air is enough to send me into a special sort of stir.  If any of you have bicycles out there, I say HOP ON!! My bicycle isn't anything fancy, I bought it at a garage sale for forty bucks, seeing as my last bike was stolen, I really don't want THAT to happen again... anyway, yes to bike riding in the fall!!! In the meantime, I started a cleanse, which is GREATLY needed after living a whole summer out of bags and hopping from couch to couch there isn't really a structure of nourishment in that lifestyle...I think a cleanse is exactly what I need. Also, the West Coast Tour is falling into place, but it may have to happen in the Spring, which is totally acceptable as long as I get to play music and NOT go back to waitressing. I think fifteen years is long enough at THAT trade... wish me luck!!! The big Wakefield Community Centre Benefit is happeing on the 10th of OCtober at The Black Sheep Inn... if you live nearby, this show is going to be amazing with GREAT talent including: The Grass, The Brothers, Ty Hall & the EZ3 and of course yours truly... there will be Mondo dancing and a great start to Thanksgiving. Ciao for now, more to come....Lxo
